2025 SALT SPRING ISLAND FALL FAIR

How to Enter an Exhibit at the Fall Fair

General Entries

Deadline: Aug 30

 

Entries can be submitted online using the Online Entry Form below, or by filling out the ballot on Page 45 of the Catalogue, and dropping it off at Foxglove Farm & Garden, Islands Savings, or the Visitor's Centre.

Livestock Entries

Deadline: Aug 23

 

Entries can be submitted online using the Online Entry Form below, or by filling out the ballot on Page 45 of the Catalogue, and dropping it off at Foxglove Farm & Garden, Islands Savings, or the Visitor's Centre.

Horse Entries

Deadline: Aug 22
 

Entry forms can be downloaded here, or found at www.giha.ca. Entrants must be registered with HCBC to participate in the Horse Show. Completed entry forms can be emailed to:

4-H Entries

Deadline: Aug 10

Entries for the 4-H Section should be submitted to your 4-H Club Leader who will email them directly to the SSI 4-H Coordinator (Loretta Rithaler) via email to:
lrithaler50@gmail. com.

Step-by-Step Instructions

STEP 1 – Review the Catalogue:
Browse the online Catalogue, or pick up a printed copy at Foxglove, the Visitors Centre, or Island Savings. Choose the classes you'd like to enter. You can submit entries for as many classes as you like, but only one entry per class, per person.

STEP 2 – Complete Your Entry Form & Submit With Entry Fees:
Submit your entries by the deadline using one of the following:
• The Online Entry Form (linked below)
• The paper form on Page 45 of the Catalogue (drop off with entry fees at Foxglove, Island Savings, or the Visitors Centre)
• Follow special instructions for 4-H and Horse sections

STEP 3 – Prepare Your Entry:
Refer to the class-specific guidelines in the Catalogue to make sure your entry meets all requirements such as number of items, photo dimensions, vase types, or display formats, etc.

STEP 4 – Drop Off Your Entry:
Deliver your exhibits to the Farmers’ Institute on the appropriate date:

  • Tuesday, Sept 2 (3:30–7:30 PM) – Photography, Needlework, Spinning & Weaving

  • Friday, Sept 5 (3:30–7:30 PM) – All other exhibits, including Livestock

Absolutely no late entries will be accepted.

STEP 5 – Display & Pick-Up:
Entries will be judged and displayed all of Fair weekend. All exhibits must remain on display until 5 PM on Sunday, Sept 7.
Prizes (cash, trophies, and certificates) can be collected on Sunday from 3–6 PM at the back of the Exhibition Hall.
