Welcome to Salt Spring Island’s Plan to Farm Web Site

Plan to Farm: Setting the Table for Food & Agriculture on Salt Spring Island is an area farm planning process initiated by the Islands Farmers Institute and the Island Natural Growers with support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands, Islands Trust, Capital Regional District, and funding from Investment Agriculture Foundation of British Columbia.

The central goals of the Plan to Farm process are to determine how to re-establish agriculture as a social, cultural and economic priority on the island, and facilitate the growth of associated farming activities.

What’s New?

Plan to Farm begins on Salt Spring Island in January 2007 with the first in a series of three stimulating community dialogue sessions related to food and agriculture. If you are a chef, mother, father, doctor, grocer, banker, tree lover, dentist, farmer, gardener, eater – basically anyone involved with or interested in food and/or agriculture on Salt Spring Island Plan to Farm needs your participation.
